Where is the thesis statement placed?

The thesis statement is placed in your introduction (your first paragraph). Usually, it is the last sentence that basically states the overall message you're going to present in your paper/essay.

It is often better to wait until you have written your whole paper before you go back and write your thesis. Remember: Your thesis statement is NOT the title of your paper.
