IVF is In-Vitro Fertilization
Invitro fertilization means fertilization outside of the body and is the most effective Assisted Reproductive Technology (ART). The process involves the doctor treating the female with certain drugs that will help produce multiple eggs. Once these eggs have matured, they are removed and put into a lab with the man's sperm. After a few days (3-5) healthy embryos are implanted into the woman. Most commonly used to treat infertility problems caused by adhesions, endemetriOSis, sperm antibodies, low sperm count and unexplained fertility.
So far, more than a million people have been born using this technique since Louise Brown, the first IVF baby, was so conceived and born in 1978.
