Can a 16 year old in Indiana fly alone in a plane to Pennsylvania for one week and stay in a hotel alone or stay with a friend and their parents?

Yes Im 16 and I travel from NYC to L.A. every summer alone. Im treated like anyother passenger you just need to know what you doing especially if its your first time fliying. Oh and as far as hotel stays I have never had a problem usually over spring brake a friend and I fly to Amsterdam and stay there for a week. I have never tried renting a car though Im not sure about the US but it would deff be a no in Europe where the driving age is 18.
