'Ex' means the relationship is over and unless he is serious about getting back into a relationship with you again then you should be moving forward into your own future. Tell him in your next text message that if he wants to see or hear from you then he can do so in broad daylight and in person. This way you will know by his facial expressions and his body language if he is stringing you along and not being serious about committing to you only (without another girl in his life as well as you.)
