The GM 6.5-liter diesel engine was produced from 1992 to 2000. It was primarily used in General Motors' full-size trucks and vans, such as the Chevrolet and GMC models. The engine was an evolution of the earlier 6.2-liter diesel and was designed to provide improved performance and efficiency. Production ceased in 2000 as GM transitioned to different diesel engine offerings.
