Alligators are technically hatched, not born. Therefore, they don't necessarily come out of their eggs at the same time as their podmates (siblings). A female alligator can lay between 20-90 eggs in a sitting. In the wild, about 65% of those will hatch and then have a 50% chance of living longer than a year.
