Can a sliver get into your bloodstream?

Yes, although elemental silver does not, to the best of my knowledge, move through the skin transdermally. Inhaling silver-containing aerosols or gases, or coming into contact with compounds that transderm and release the silver -- or possibly coming into contact with nano-silver -- are the only ways I can think of for silver to enter your bloodstream.
