Why did the great basin live in tepee's?

The Great Basin people lived in tepees primarily due to their nomadic lifestyle and the harsh environmental conditions of the region. Tepees were portable, easy to assemble, and well-suited for the region's variable weather, providing effective insulation in cold winters and ventilation in hot summers. Their conical shape also allowed them to withstand strong winds, making them ideal for the open landscapes of the Great Basin. Additionally, the materials used, such as animal hides and wooden poles, were readily available to them.
