How do you remove the bolt on a Marlin model 59?

You need to remove the screw holding the stock to the action. Just in front of the trigger is a leaf spring holding a pin into the action. Gently lift the pin while sliding the bolt back. It should slide right out.

NOTE**Make sure the bolt stays cocked. If you release the firing pin manually by rotating the black knob on the back of the bolt you will not be able to re-insert the bolt. You can manually re-cock the bolt but it is very difficult.
