Why should FDR be our president?

FDR has been dead for 71 years. He can not be our president. In his day, times were very bad before he was president and people were willing to try a change. He proposed a greatly expanded role for the federal government and people were willing to give it a try. People who benefit from government programs generally like them and the people who have to pay for them often do not.
