When did the redwood national park open?

Redwood National Park was established on October 2, 1968. It was created to protect the remaining old-growth redwood forests and the diverse ecosystems within them. The park was later expanded through the addition of surrounding areas, including state parks, to enhance conservation efforts. Today, it encompasses over 138,000 acres of stunning landscapes and rich biodiversity.
