Woodlands are the habitat of the Brunetta Orchid (Hexalectris spicata).
Specifically, this wild orchid does not need to be in an environment of intense or strong light. It numbers among those plants that actually do not carry on photosynthesis. It therefore prefers the moist, nutrient rich and shaded environments of open deciduous forests and woodland stream banks.
