How do you say secondary school in spanish?

Secondary school in Spanish is literally "escuela secundaria", but usually no one ever says this. Secondary school refers to "high school" in the U.S., so each country has a different name for this.

The general Word is "colegio", but I've heard "liceo" in Chile and "la prepa(toria)" in Mexico.
