How are robotics being used in the medical area?

More and more surgical procedures are robotic-assisted. These robots stabilize the hand movements of surgeons when working in delicate places like the brain and for procedures that are done with microscopes, in very small places where hands and fingers don't fit or the surgeon is unable to make the tiny movements that microscopic procedures require, robotics can adjust movements by very small increments, so that movements by the surgeon are "translated" into microscopic movements.
