England-France border distance

There is no border, only the English Channel (or as the French say, La Manche). The closest distance is just over 20 miles.

There is now the channel tunnel. You can't drive through it, you have to put the vehicle onto a train flat bed wagon and be carried through. Allowing for the approaches I think the distance is about 30 miles.
