A noun functions as:
- The subject of a sentence (Mother made cookies for the kids.)
- The subject of a clause (The cookies that mother made are for the kids.)
- The direct object of a verb (Mother made cookies for the kids.)
- The indirect object of a verb (Mother made the kids some cookies.)
- The object of a preposition (Mother made cookies for the kids.)
