How long did Great Britain colonize Africa?

depends on the country. it started in the late nineteenth century (1800's) and most countries were independent by 1960ish. so its probably around 60 to 80 years for the vast majority of countries. some countries have been independent now for about as long as they were colonized. Europeans did live in Africa for a while before colonialism.
