Why are they no plants on the moon?

Because there is NO atmosphere ( carbon dioxide, oxygen, nitrogen)

Also because there is no surface water.

NB All plants and animals require , oxygen , nitrogen, carbon dioxide, and water to survive. These substances are present on the surface of Earth, but NOT on the surface of the Moon.
