What is the judge's job in court?

it is the person with a hammer in court that says who can speak when they want, and they are really posh and stuck up.

The judge is the ruling authority in a court. She/ he determines if it is okay for certain people to say certain things. Although she does have a hammer it is used to bring order into a caotic court room. :)
