New Harmony, the utopian community founded by Robert Owen in 1825 in Indiana, lasted only about two years before it disbanded in 1827. Despite its initial promise and idealistic goals, the community struggled with financial difficulties, internal conflicts, and differing visions among its members. Ultimately, the experiment failed to achieve its objectives, leading to its dissolution and the dispersal of its inhabitants.
