Do you have to pass your Preliminary to Gold Freeskate test in figure skating before you can test and compete at a Juvenile and Novice competitive level in Canada?

no, you have to move up level by level. What ever freeskate test you take, if you pass, you can only compete at that level. If you want to go to a higher rank, you take the next test.

The levels are:

performance (no rankings in competitions)

pre-preliminary

preliminary

Jr. bronze (pre-juvenile)

Sr. Bronze (Juvenile)

Jr. Sliver (pre-novice)

Sr. Silver (novice)
