If you have a pump that's in the tank, the easiest way is to listen for it to kick on. Most of the time its just a humm. By the way if it is bad and your car is cutting out on you, don't spend the $350.00 and up to have a mechanic pull your tank, drop your rear end and have to weld back your exhaust. Just get on to JC Whitney and buy an inline fuel pump and hook it up. I paid to have mine done but put one on a friends to see if it would work and it works great, its just a little louder than the factory one in the tank.
