Why do the bible refer to patience her?

There is only one verse of the 33 verses containing patience that refers to patience as 'her':

But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing. (James 1.4)

Patience comes from God, who is referred to as "the God of patience" in Romans 15.5

I suppose that the gentleness of women is implied in this reference to Patience as 'her'
