The '2' in E2 seems to refer to list of conditions under 'Troubleshooting' in the user manual for this product. The version of the manual that I have found claims that in this condition the problem is: "The amound of heated air exiting the front of the portable heater is reduced."
The solution is to: "Check the electrostatic filter to make sure it is free of dust and dirt. Also check the front grill and rear air intake to make sure it is not being blocked by any kind of debris."
