How does a wound from a gun shot kill people?

A wound due to a gunshot may cause death by one of three means- First, disrupting the Central Nervous system so that control over breathing and circulation is stopped. This could be the result of a wound to the brain or spinal cord. Second, by loss of blood that causes the brain. heart. or lungs to stop functioning. A bullet wound to the heart, or cutting a major blood vessel would cause this type of injury. Third, a delayed effect is the potential of infection caused by a bullet that carries bacteria into the body.
