A Quint is defined as a fire apparatus capable of performing 5 functions. A Quint:

- Is capable of pumping Water

- Is capable of carrying a water supply (water tank)

- Is capable of performing aerial operations (aerial ladder)

- Is capable of carrying a ground ladder compliment

- Is capable of carrying a compliment of fire hose.
