Is my Giant African snail asleep?

well there not really asleep because if u sprey THEM (not the shell) they wil come out , if u have bark as the beding then that's why the bark is hard and they don't like it they woulg rather have nice soft soil insted but if u have got soil u need to change ther food evrey fortnight .... hope i helped x
