Where is the air release valve on doughboy filter for pool?

It may not have one. Sometimes it is a black plastic knob. Or it could be brown. In any case the valve will most likely be plastic and on the very top of the filter unless the filter is not a vertical one then it will be on one end. What type filter is it. Sand, D. E. or cartridge?
