How are conduction and convection effected by paving over a grass field?

Paving over a grass field reduces the surface area available for convection to take place due to the interruption of air flow. This can lead to a decrease in convective heat transfer. However, conduction will increase as the paved surface provides a more direct pathway for heat to transfer compared to the insulated nature of soil and grass.
