What is Cleopatra best known for?

Cleopatra is best known for all the myths, misconceptions, and exaggerations that have grown about her. There is a trend now, to write so-called biographies of her, when there is actually very little to write about. The authors of these books speculate and do nothing more than add to the misconceptions about her. When (and if) her tomb is found, perhaps at least some of the truth about her will emerge.
