Rutherford B. Hayes (born October 4, 1822 in Delaware, Ohio; died January 17, 1893 in Fremont, Ohio) succeeded Jacob Cox as the twenty-ninth Governor of Ohio, serving between January 13, 1868 and January 8, 1872, including the whole of 1870.
