Why do people test loyalty to others?

Most people test others loyalty because they are insecure about themselves and unsure about whether or not a person(s) is loyal. Sometimes people even go to a lie detector. Usually, they find out their husband/wife/boyfriend/girlfriend/friend is loyal to them. It is an emotional state of insecurity.
