What does checkmark mean on facebook friends?

On Facebook, a checkmark next to a friend's name typically indicates that the person is verified, meaning their identity has been confirmed by Facebook. This feature is often associated with public figures, organizations, or brands to help users identify authentic accounts. It helps users distinguish between genuine profiles and impersonators.
