What does the word plan mean in science?

The pan identifies what is to be done and the general approach to be taken. A plan can be at a low level of detail such as an outline of things to do, or, it may be very deteiled. A detailed plan will identify set-up, tools, reviews, processes or functions, and types of measurements or reviews, along with record-keeping.
