Do you send a gift if you do not attend the baby shower?

When in doubt always send a "congratulations" card including a thank you for the invitation. Best if hand-written, snail mail before the date of the shower. Note: include small gift (not check or cash) if you want to impress them (boss, future-sister-in-law, etc.)
