What does it mean when a woman plays with her own hair?

it's a mannerism that a woman does when she's thinking. sort of like, fiddling with something, pacing. it could be any number of things, depending on the woman. but most of the time it's something they do when they're bored, tired, upset, worried, content, etc. but it usually means there is something on her mind.
