What are Christians attitudes to punishment?

They should be punished and learn a lesson !Because being Christian is emulating the life of Jesus Christ, we have no basis to know what he thinks or knows about raising children, or how he would have been as a leader. A leader of men and women faces issues such as rewarding reprimanding. As far as The Bible goes, Jesus never truly led a diverse and large enough group of people to face such issues. He never had a child to face the issues some parents have to debate whether to punish or not.

So, what we have to go by is his mother and father's attitude towards punishment and reprimand.

No where in the Bible did Joseph spank, his son or beat his wife. Even when Jesus separated hismelf from his parents and was found preaching in the temple. Which by the way could have gotten a child and his parents killed in those days. His father did not spank him. Instead he explained the consequences of the child's actions and left it at that.

The parenting style of Joseph and Mary was one of support, guidance and understanding. Never did they impose their point of views on their children. Never do we read of the the types of things the so called Christians today do in the name of "Spare the rod and spoil the child"

No where in the bible are kids whipped spanked and beaten to a pulp and all that "rubbish parenting" we see in Christian homes today.

Support your kids, love your kids, treat them like little people who do not have all the parts of the equation and help them fill in the blanks for themselves.
