What does the move role play do in LeafGreen?

In Pokémon LeafGreen, the move Role Play allows the user to copy the Ability of the target Pokémon. This means that the user gains the same Ability as the opponent, which can provide strategic advantages during battles. However, the user cannot copy Abilities that are already in effect, such as those that are innate to Pokémon, and the effect lasts only until the battle ends.
