Is the Kia an interferance motor?

Like many motors built over the past decade, the 2.7 liter V-6 engine used by Kia and Hyundai is an interference motor. If the cam timing belt breaks, the valves will hit the pistons, usually causing significant damage to valves, pistons, and sometimes even connecting rods and heads. Cam belt replacement is recommended at 60,000 miles.
