In what ocean is Japan located in?

It's surrounded all by the Pacific Ocean. There are channels between each island that have have hawaiian names like the channel between Hawaii and maui is Alenuihaha Channel, channel between Maui and Oahu is Kaiwi Channel, channel between Oahu and Kauai is the Kauai Channel. But there are many different bays and beaches on each island that give the ocean surrounding it a kinda of fixed named by the beach or bay it surrounds. Not necessarily changing the name of the oceans near each of the island.
