Does a giant squid have a big mouth for eating small whales?

Giant squids don't have big mouths. Compared to body size they have a fairly small beak-like mouth they use to bite chunks large enough to swallow out of their prey.

And whales - even "small whales" are too big for a giant squid to attack successfully.
