I swapped a 85 2x4 long bed Toyota cab onto a 85 4x4 short bed Toyota frame. It bolts to the frame just fine, but there are few changes you need to make. The speedomeitor cable is longer on the 4x4. The emergency brake cable is a different lenght. You will need to make a bigger hole in the cabs transmission tunnel for the transfer case shifter. Fuel lines from the fuel tank are different lenght. That is it.

While you are changing the cab use the extra rubber washers from between the cab and frame from the other cab on the 4x4. It gives you about 1 inch body lift on the cab for free. That makes a lot difference when unbolting the engine from the transmission while still in the truck. If you do to much body lift you have radiator mounting and other issues. stick to 1 inch to make it simple.
