What is the impact managed care is likely to have on your career in healthcare?

At first we will probably not see much of a difference, but later and especially for those coming into the field I would expect the wages to fall, because it is no longer a for profit industry. It will be kind of like working for a strict nonprofit agency. But then again healthcare is something that people will always pay for and will always prioritize, even the Government's Occupational Outlook handbook suggests the growth of the industry and it is going to be better specially for the next 8 year. SO I don't really expect anything bad for the industry.
