Is hydrogen a cation or an anion?

Hydrogen is a cation because it would only need to lose an electron to become like a noble gas, who has their outer ring completely filled. Cation is an ion that is positive, and since it is losing an electron the result will end up with it having one more proton then electrons, making it positive. (Cation)
