Can you explain the rules for the "skip a turn" card in Uno?

In Uno, the "skip a turn" card allows a player to skip the next player's turn. When this card is played, the player next in line to take their turn is skipped, and play moves on to the following player. The skipped player does not get to take their turn and must wait until their next turn to play.
