What is the basic philosophy of the LDS church also known as Ladder Day Saints?

LDS or Ladder Day Saints, are also known as Mormons. In their religion it is acceptable to practice polygamy. They keep to themselves and have a goal of keeping a full year of food supplies on hand. They are strict and refrain from smoking and drinking.
