If you go for too expensive you'll end up with no money in a short amount of time. Choose colored flowers which will compliment the room and then look for other things to add to it like water or colored rocks (if the vase is clear).

Look in catalogs or check on google images for designer vases and then try to copy what they have created so you can have it in your room as well. There are a lot of websites which will give you additional ideas
