Where is a cheap vacation for a family of four?

Well I live in the desert and I love the water. I discovered affordable family getaways at Broken Bow Lake Oklahoma from a friend that goes Scuba diving there several weekends out of the year. It's actually quite affordable and beautiful all year long. And there is so much to do as a family. There are a lot of water sports, nature hikes, kayaking and the views are amazing. There isn't anything pretentious it's just awesome family fun.
