How much Time to travel between siliguri and thimpu by road?

This is done in two stages. Stage One- Siliguri to Phuentsholing (entry point in Bhutan) is between 3 to 4 hours depending on whether you travel by public (bus) or by private transport. Stage Two- Phuentsholing to Thimphu is about 5 to six hours, again depending on the mode of transport. Important note- So in theory travel from Siliguri to Thimphu, about 8 to 10 hours, can be done in one day. But not so for foreigners (including Indian nationls) unless your travel documents have been prepared beforehand. Otherwise you will need at least one or half day at Phuenstholing to obtain the required travel permit.
