What might cause a knocking noise after changing the spark plugs in a 2003 Pontiac Grand Am?

the knock could be totally unrelated but i would check to see if the proper spark plug was installed. if its a hollow knock a wire might not be properly connected, either it pulled apart inside upon removal or not pushed down far enough on install.
